Itinerary - Day 1
Monday, July 24, 2017

2:30 -6:00 pm - Drive to Chaguaramas Peninsula. We'll take a stroll through the Bamboo Cathedral and then we can head to Macqueripe Bay for a swim. COMPLIMENTARY TRIP (Since it's pretty close to my home, this is my gift to you).

Itinerary - Day 2

Tuesday, July 25, 2017


8:00 am - Leave home for Blanchisseuse

8:30 am - Stop for a doubles breakfast along the way

9:30 am - Arrive in Blanchisseuse

10:30/11:00 am - Catch the boat to Paria bay on Trinidad's north coast. Depending on the weather and river conditions, we'll visit the Paria Waterfall and walk to the far end of the beach to take in the natural formation known as Cathedral Rock.

5:00 pm - We'll catch the boat back to Blanchisseuse and drive back to Diego Martin.

6:30 pm/7:00 pm  - Arrive at Dawn's place. You'll have the option of stopping to purchase dinner on the way there. 
Itinerary - Day 3 

Wednesday, July 26, 2017
We'll have a leisurely morning and check out some scenery close to Port of Spain. 
After lunch, we'll drive Caroni Swamp, check out the  visitors' centre, then join a tour of the swamp at 4:30 pm. Binoculars or a camera with a good zoom lens is recommended.

Caroni Bird Sanctuary
Home to over 100 bird species, the Caroni Swamp is a 12,000 acre wildlife sanctuary and is home to one of Trinidad and Tobago’s national birds, the Scarlet Ibis. 
​
We'll journey on a flat-bottomed boat through waterways and lagoons lined with dense mangrove forests. Along the way, look out for hermit crabs, blue and white egrets, owls, caimans, and other animals. We'll finish our tour at sunset, as we watch the Scarlet Ibis and other species return from their feeding grounds to roost for the night.

I recommend that we grab some dinner then head straight to the airport after this tour since time may be against us if we return to Diego Martin.
